• New Life Medical Group Builds on 20-Year History and Leads the Way in Changing Lives with Regenerative Therapy and Pain Treatment

Providing medical services rarely found together in one location, New Life Medical Group (formerly Tennessee Hyperbaric Center/Pain Specialist Center) is expanding its Tennessee practice. The clinic’s mission is to bring hope to pain sufferers and people who have been told there is nothing else that can be done by the medical community. New Life Medical Group in Jackson, TN, serving Nashville, TN, provides their patients with innovative regenerative therapies from excellent medical professionals who genuinely want to help patients’ live vibrant lives.

Doctor Roy Schmidt, a board certified anesthesiologist and founder of New Life Medical Group, has spent 23 years serving patients in Jackson, TN and from Nashville, TN. In addition to traditional pain treatment, he offers innovative therapies to treat the cause of a patient’s pain or other conditions. Among these are stem cell therapy (with cells taken from the patient’s own body) and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).

While some clinics around the country may offer one of these treatments, Doctor Schmidt and New Life Medical Group were the first in the region to bring all these services under one roof. A quick Google search reveals that patients looking for stem cell and hyperbaric treatment in the same location have to look no further than the Jackson, TN clinic.

Doctor Schmidt and his team have helped hundreds of patients achieve a quality of life they feared was lost. One patient who chose a combination of stem cell therapy and HBOT treatments was Judy K., who suffered a back injury in a car accident in 1992. After surgery and nerve block treatments, Doctor Schmidt encouraged her to try stem cell therapy and HBOT. She described the treatment, where he removed stem cells from her fatty tissue to add it to her own platelets. “He injected my back with it, and then I went into the [HBOT] chamber 10 times. Since I came out the last time, I’ve been free of back pain. I’ve done anything I wanted to do and have been so amazed.”

Internationally and in the United States, an increasing number of patients have been catching on to the benefits of regenerative medicine — stem cell therapy, HBOT, platelet rich plasma and prolotherapy for conditions such as; autism, cerebral palsy, complex regional pain syndrome (RSD), concussion/head injury, recovery from cosmetic surgery, peripheral neuropathy/diabetes, Lyme disease, migraines, alopecia, congestive heart failure, COPD and lung disease, disc disease, erectile dysfunction, macular degeneration, multiple sclerosis, osteoarthritis, Parkinson’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal cord injuries, lupus and more.

Doctor Schmidt explained that stem cell therapy and HBOT work together to promote healing. “The best time to do hyperbaric oxygen therapy is right after stem cell therapy or any kind of regenerative medicines, because it kick starts that process,” he said. “We have the ability, not to cure, but to repair tissue. You don’t have to depend on a drug or a doctor to move on with life. We keep trying. Once you turn the body around, it can heal itself.”

Research in these areas has been around for many years. A 2005 University of Pennsylvania study highlighted the benefits of HBOT treatments for stem cells. Researchers discovered after 20 treatments of hyperbaric oxygen, stem cell counts doubled (http://www.uphs.upenn.edu/news/News_Releases/dec05/O2stmcls.htm).

The simple step-by-step method for treating shin splints is this:
    1) Understand that pain is not the enemy, it’s a desperate
message from your body telling you something is wrong
    2) Identify what’s causing your shin splints. (it’s rather easy
when you know what to look for… I’ll get back to this in
    just a moment)
    3) Use pain relief techniques along with exercises that treat
the specific underlying causes that are causing your shin
Without identifying what’s causing your pain and treating it…
Pain relief techniques are just temporary relief, which isn’t very
much use to you at all.
So don’t just treat shin splints with pain relief techniques, unless more pain, frustration and temporary relief is your cup of tea… in which case go right ahead.
